Denmark hit form with a 5-0 win against 2003/04 UEFA European Championship second qualifying round Group 5 rivals Slovakia, but both teams are out of the competition.
Ukraine through
Ukraine, who beat Denmark 2-0 on Thursday, won today by the same score against Germany, first day victors against Slovakia, and have clinched first place. Denmark still made every effort, though, and led at half-time through Nicklas Bendtner's goal.
Victory complete
Magnus Troest made it two just after the break, and a pair of goals from Danilo Arrieta Cerda and a last-gasp effort from substitute Bo Storm confirmed the biggest win so far of the round. Denmark need only a draw against group hosts Germany on Monday to finish second. Slovakia - now certain to finish fourth - take on Ukraine the same day.
