Including several dancers, one singer and a studious goalkeeper, captain Daan Disveld gives the inside track on the Netherlands squad that won their nation's first Under-17 title in Serbia.

Captain's guide: Netherlands ©Sportsfile

1 Boy de Jong (Feyenoord, goalkeeper)
He's a great goalkeeper, got a great kick. Besides the game he's a great singer, he always sings famous Dutch songs. If he doesn't make it as a footballer, he could always make a living as a singer.

2 Daan Disveld (NEC Nijmegen/FC Oss, defender)
As a player, I try to beat my opponent and when the time is right go forward. I also try to be the leader and coach the players on the pitch and off it. Friendly guy off the pitch!

3 Terence Kongolo (Feyenoord, defender)
He's a strong player, good against a striker and a strong header of the ball. He's one of the funniest guys, he always has funny things to say, he's a great guy, everyone loves him.

4 Karim Rekik (Feyenoord, defender)
Like Terence, a great guy and a great defender. A very easy-going guy, everyone likes him.

5 Jetro Willems (Sparta Rotterdam, defender)
As a left wing back he is a great attacker. Off the pitch he looks like a quiet guy but if you know him well he is very funny, we're laughing all the time.

6 Kyle Ebecilio (Arsenal FC, midfielder)
A strong player in midfield, very important, he keeps the balance in the team. Another easy-going guy off the pitch, says funny things.

7 Michael Chacon (RJO Heerenveen/Emmen, forward)
He can dribble past opponents, really fast and a great crosser. He's a really good dancer with Tonny [No10], from his Colombian roots. He is the Shakira of the Dutch team!

8 Yassine Ayoub (FC Utrecht, midfielder)
Just like Kyle, great in midfield. When he's on the ball he's always in control, doesn't do any crazy stuff. He's also a great dancer – we have a lot of great dancers in the squad. He's from Morocco, moves with his hips – you have to see it!

9 Anass Achahbar (Feyenoord, forward)
A real striker, can score a goal at any time and good at holding the ball up. Really easy-going off the pitch. Another great dancer, together with Yassine, Moroccan roots.

10 Tonny Trindade de Vilhena (Feyenoord, midfielder)
You can always play the ball to him, he's always free, and he's a year younger than the rest, which is nice. He's always dancing, together with Michael.

11 Memphis Depay (PSV Eindhoven, midfielder)
A great individual player, skilful, great technique, he can make the difference.

12 Danzell Gravenberch (AFC Ajax, forward)
A strong guy. Like Anass can hold the ball up. Off the pitch he tries to be serious, but nobody takes him seriously!

13 Thom Haye (AZ Alkmaar, midfielder)
Easy-going guy. He's not the centre of attention but a real nice guy to have in the squad. A great midfielder.

14 Joris van Overeem (AZ Alkmaar, midfielder)
He's at the same club as Thom and the same sort of person. On the pitch he is similar to Thom too, comfortable on the ball, always finds the right player.

15 Nathan Ake (Feyenoord, defender)
Also a year younger, strong on the ball. Off the pitch he is a quiet guy but at the right moment comes out with the right jokes and makes everyone laugh.

16 Peter Leeuwenburgh (AFC Ajax, goalkeeper)
Tallest guy in the group and good on high balls, like Terence. A great kick, more than half the pitch. Off the pitch he is serious about his schoolwork as he has his final exams on Monday, within about two hours of us arriving at the airport. Any spare time he has he's studying.

17 Menno Koch (PSV Eindhoven, defender)
A great defender, strong in the air. Off the pitch also easy-going, a great player to have in the squad.

18 Nick de Bondt (Vitesse/AGOVV, forward)
A great winger, quick and delivers the ball quickly to the danger zone. Another easy-going guy.
