Hungary will stage the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals from 17 May to 2 June, with the draw made on Monday 3 April at Hotel Ensana Thermal Margitsziget, Budapest. The fixture list will be confirmed shortly.

The groups

Group A: Hungary (hosts), Republic of Ireland, Poland, Wales

Group B: Serbia, Spain, Italy, Slovenia

Group C: Portugal, France (holders), Scotland, Germany

Group D: Croatia, Netherlands, Switzerland, England

The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) welcomed the U16 finals in 1985 and has previously also hosted U19 EURO (2014), Women's U19 EURO (2005), U21 EURO (2021, with Slovenia) and Futsal EURO (2010) as well as staging other major events including matches at UEFA EURO 2020 and club finals. The 2023 UEFA Europa League final will take place at Puskás Aréna, Budapest on 31 May, the day after the U17 semi-finals.

The tournament will also act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup from 10 November to 2 December. The four semi-finalists will earn places along with the winners of a play-off for Europe's fifth spot between the two beaten quarter-finals with the best record in the group stage (group position, then points, then goal difference, then goals scored, then if needed quarter-final goal difference, then quarter-final goals scored, then overall disciplinary ranking then qualifying round coefficient).
