Atlético Madrid's Roberto Nuñez has finished as top scorer in the 2015/16 UEFA Youth League with nine goals.

The 20-year-old attacker ended up top of the pile despite the Spanish side being eliminated on penalties by Midtjylland in the play-offs. Remarkably, all of his efforts – including four in a 9-0 defeat of Astana – came in the Rojiblancos' first five group matches.

Nuñez is also the joint-leading marksman in UEFA Youth League history alongside Borja Mayoral, who registered his record-equalling 15th competition strike in Real Madrid's 3-1 semi-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

The only other player who could have overtaken Nuñez heading into the final was Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham. The Londoner took his total to eight with the last goal of the English club's 3-0 triumph over Anderlecht on Friday but did not add to that tally in the subsequent 2-1 win against Paris.

9 Roberto Nuñez (Atlético Madrid)
8 Borja Mayoral (Real Madrid)
8 Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)
7 José Gomes (Benfica)
