UEFA Europa League holders Club Atlético de Madrid have added to their defensive options ahead of Friday's UEFA Super Cup match against Chelsea FC with the arrival of Domingo Cisma on a free transfer from Real Racing Club.
The left-back – who can also play in central defence – agreed to return to the Vicente Calderón on a season-long deal seven years after featuring for the club's B team. "I am back to stay," said the 30-year-old former UD Almería and CD Numancia player after landing back in the Spanish capital. "A special group of players is being assembled here and I hope my arrival will increase the competition for places."
Meanwhile, right-sided prospect Abdelkader Oueslati, or 'Kader', who made his senior debut in Atlético's 1-1 Liga draw at Levante UD on 19 August, faces at least a month on the sidelines. The 20-year-old has had surgery to treat the broken collarbone he suffered in a collision with Cristian Rodríguez in training on Sunday.
Several hours before tackling Chelsea at the Stade Louis II in Friday's UEFA Super Cup, Diego Simeone's side will take their place in the UEFA Europa League group stage draw at 13.00CET.
