Ramos revels in Sevilla success

Firstly we are really happy because we won, and secondly because it was such a good result. We have now won two European finals by big margins which is obviously very good for our confidence and gives us the encouragement to continue playing the way we are. Everything went just as we had planned. Our players did their jobs to a man, maintaining the intensity we had in the first half throughout the match as Barcelona tired. As coach of Sevilla I am very happy with my squad, the players always give everything. Everyone knows that when Barça are in top form they are unstoppable - we stopped them from playing and it is a credit to us that we did not allow them to create one real opening. Football is about the present and the future - you can't afford to look back. Sevilla are 100 years old as a club but I am committed to looking ahead and driving the team forward. We have 38 games ahead of us in the Spanish season and we'll have to play well in all of those games to win the league.

It's a disappointing result against a well-organised Sevilla side. The second goal was the turning point, it killed us off and after that we were left with too much to do. They were able to dictate play and play to their system and we weren’t. They deserved to win - they played better, tackled stronger, and were solid. We lacked the spark needed to get a better result. At times we showed a lot of control but we didn’t turn that into real chances and they did so we can’t be happy with that. Tonight wasn't our night but there is no need to change things. Losing is a part of football, you cannot win them all. It was a surprise to lose so heavily and we'll have to work hard to come back from this. We've got this far because of our hard work and our mentality and that is what will pull us through again. We lacked something on what was a bad night for us.
