Chrudim conquer Czech title again

FK EP Chrudim captain Lukáš Rešetár is aiming for the 2014/15 UEFA Futsal Cup finals after aiding the club to their eighth straight Czech title.

Having pushed Chrudim hard in the regular campaign, FC Teplice won through to meet the champions in the best-of-five play-off final. Chrudim went two ahead after winning 4-1 at home and 4-2 away before welcoming Teplice again on Monday night in what proved a thrilling game. The hosts found themselves 3-1 down with 14 minutes to go before the use of a flying goalkeeper helped them turn the match, Douglas sealing a 4-3 victory and a tenth championship in 11 seasons with three minutes left.

"There were two highly competitive teams in the final, but we managed to prevail at the decisive moments," winger Roman Mareš told UEFA.com, before paying tribute to Spanish coach Daniel who succeeded Cacau this season. "When he arrived he said he was going to change many things, but if we trusted in ourselves we would win the title. And we all achieved it."

Rešetár scored two important goals in the decisive game. "The series was demanding, we had to give our best especially in the final match," he said. "Our experience played a role, we have learned in the UEFA Futsal Cup that such games are decided by small details."

Chrudim will now again seek to reach the UEFA Futsal Cup finals, having fallen in the elite round seven years in a row. "It is our dream, we are going to prepare ourselves as well as possible and fight for it," Rešetár said.
