AIK Solna 2-0 ÍBV Vestmannæyjar
Sweden's AIK Solna edged closer to the first round of the UEFA Cup with a well-deserved home victory in their qualifying round, first leg match against Icelandic side ÍBV Vestmannæyjar.
Defensive tactics
AIK's visitors looked to have come to Sweden to play for a goalless draw, packing the defence and rarely troubling the hosts' backline, even after they went behind. That opening goal came in the 26th minute through Daniel Hoch following a swift counter-attack.
Nordin tap-in
The home side did not add to their lead until the last minute, when tough-tackling midfield player Krister Nordin found the net from close range after latching on to substitute Mats Rubarth's pass.
