Successful season
The Catalan team have activated an option in the player's contract allowing them to re-sign him at a cost of €5m. The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful season with Atlético after arriving in a €3.6m deal, scoring nine goals in 30 matches from the left flank.
Bargaining tool
It is unclear what the future now holds for Luis García, whom Barça may use as a bargaining tool in their summer transfer dealings. Although a former Barcelona B player, he has spent most of his career loaned out to other clubs in Spain.
Musampa fills gap
Atlético have a ready-made replacement in Kizito Musampa, signed from Málaga CF, and are also looking at Savio, the former Real Madrid CF winger, now with FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
