Jop injury rocks Wisla

Wisla Kraków defender Mariusz Jop will be out of action for four to six weeks with a broken jaw.

Wisla Kraków have lost central defender Mariusz Jop for four to six weeks because of a broken jaw.

Serious injury
Jop sustained the injury during last weekend's 4-2 league win against Lech Poznan. The defender left the pitch after just 18 minutes following an accidental collision with team-mate and goalkeeper Adam Piekutowski, who was able to continue.

Week in hospital
Jop, who has won two caps for Poland, will spend the rest of the week in hospital and so misses the UEFA Cup second-round second leg against Vålerenga IF on Thursday. The first leg in Norway ended 0-0.

Other absentees
Wisla coach Henryk Kasperczak will also be without right winger Damian Gorawski who is suspended and midfield player Lantame Ouadja who will undergo surgery on a toe problem on Friday.
