Tomic tonic for Partizan

Serbo-Montenegrin international Ivan Tomic has returned home to his first club, agreeing a three-year contract with FK Partizan.

Cup successes
The 28-year-old midfield player began his career with Partizan in 1992, spending the next six years with the club before moving to AS Roma. He won the Coppa Italia with the Italian club before a loan spell at Spanish side Deportivo Alavés brought an appearance in the 2001 UEFA Cup final.

'Right choice'
"Now I am much more experienced and I know that I made the right choice because Partizan are a big and ambitious club," said Tomic, who spent last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish second division. "I am totally motivated to play in Belgrade and this is not a backward step in my career."

Bommer deal
In Germany, Rudi Bommer has agreed a one-year deal to become the new coach of relegated TSV 1860 München. The former German international will leave his job at second division SV Wacker Burghausen to take up the new role.

Bellotto out
In Italy another relegated side, Modena FC, have announced the end of Gianfranco Bellotto's brief tenure in charge. Bellotto was appointed with eight matches of the Serie A season to go, but could not prevent the side slipping out of the top flight.

Cousin chance
Le Mans UC 72, who were relegated from France's Ligue 1, will have to do without Daniel Cousin for next season's promotion campaign after the striker agreed a three-year deal at RC Lens. "Lens are a big club who have been interested in me for several years," said Cousin, who scored eleven times last season. "I'm delighted but the hardest part begins now. Now I have to prove how good I am."

Winter role
Aron Winter has been appointed an assistant to Foppe de Haan in the Netherlands youth set-up. Winter, who represented his country on 84 occasions, will work alongside De Haan at the FIFA World Youth Cup next summer, which is been held in the Netherlands in June.

Hanssen for Heerenveen
Finally, Norwegian André Hanssen has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with Dutch side SC Heerenveen. The 23-year-old FK Bodø/Glimt midfield player has been tracked by the Dutch side's representatives for the last year and will play out the Norwegian season with his current club having signed a contract that starts on 1 January 2005.
