Valencia CF will sign Argentina central defender Nicolás Otamendi for an undisclosed fee from FC Porto at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has agreed a five-year contract at Mestalla, having won three Portuguese Liga titles and the 2011 UEFA Europa League while at Porto. Otamendi, who has 16 international caps, has registered eight goals in 77 league appearances for Porto since his 2010 move from CA Vélez Sársfield.
Speaking about his summer transfer, the Buenos Aires-native said: "After playing for such a prestigious and big club as Porto, it's an honour for me to be going to Valencia, one of the most historic and attractive sides in Spain and Europe. I am very happy to be taking this step in my career."
Both Valencia and Porto will compete in this month's UEFA Europa League round of 32, with the Spanish side meeting FC Dynamo Kyiv and the Portuguese champions facing Eintracht Frankfurt.
