Scotland forward Steven Naismith has agreed a three-year contract extension at Rangers FC, tying him to Ibrox until summer 2015.
The 24-year-old had 18 months left on his existing contract but ended any uncertainty over his future by committing long term. "It's good to finally get my situation all sorted," said Naismith. "We didn't speak that long about it and there was never any doubt I'd sign – it was simply a case of getting the small print sorted. I'm delighted to be here."
Naismith has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, including his first for Scotland in their 3-2 UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying defeat by Spain in October and one in the UEFA Champions League against Bursaspor. Rangers finished behind Valencia CF and Manchester United FC in Group C and will now meet Sporting Clube de Portugal in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 in February.
