Everton have wrapped up a two-and-a-half-month loan deal for Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, with the United States' most-capped player joining David Moyes' side at the start of next month.
International pedigree
Everton, who were pitted against Sporting Clube de Portugal in Friday's UEFA Europa League round of 32 draw, will retain the services of Donovan until the middle of March when he will return to his parent club. The 27-year-old, who was a mainstay of his country's successful 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, has 120 international appearances and 41 goals to his name. "He will come in and add pace, he's a good finisher and has captained the US national team so he has that experience," said Moyes. "He is the first of two or three players I want to bring in in January." Donovan also had a short spell on loan with FC Bayern München last season.
