Perea ruled out of Atlético's Turkish trip

Club Atlético de Madrid central defender Luis Perea will be out of action for up to three weeks after pulling a muscle in his right thigh on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Colombian international had to leave the field after picking up the injury during his side's 2-0 win at Athletic Club Bilbao and will miss the club's next three matches – league games against CA Osasuna and FC Barcelona and the second leg of their UEFA Cup first round tie against Kayseri Erciyesspor next Thursday. Goalkeeper Leo Franco also pulled a muscle in his right thigh during the game, but played the full 90 minutes. Club doctors think the 30-year-old will be fit in time for next Thursday's game against the Turkish side, with Atlético leading 4-0 from the home fixture.
