Galatasaray AS right-back Uğur Uçar has undergone surgery on a damaged kneecap which will keep him out of action for between six and eight weeks.

Chipped bone
The 20-year-old chipped his kneecap during the Süper Lig leaders' 1-0 win against Konyaspor on Monday and may now be absent for as long as two months with his side looking to progress into the later stages of the UEFA Cup. Coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp will welcome Mehmet Topal back for the second leg of their Round of 32 tie against Bayer 04 Leverkusen as the midfielder has now recovered from a knee injury. The two sides drew 0-0 in the opening fixture in Istanbul last week.
