Grønkjær wings in for Stuttgart

Denmark winger Jesper Grønkjær has left Club Atlético de Madrid after just six months to join VfB Stuttgart.

Denmark winger Jesper Grønkjær has quit Club Atlético de Madrid after just six months to complete a reported €6m move to VfB Stuttgart on a three-year contract.

Not settled
The 27-year-old Grønkjær joined Atlético in December from Birmingham City FC but is moving on even though he had two seasons left to run on his contract in Spain. He appeared 16 times in the league and played a part in the team's Copa del Rey campaign, reaching the semi-final stage.

Danish duo
Grønkjær completed the transfer to the Bundesliga club today after passing a medical in Stuttgart. He will join forces with fellow Danish international Jon Dahl Tomasson, with the striker having been acquired on a four-year contract from AC Milan earlier this month. Stuttgart will enter the UEFA Cup in September's first round.
