It is advantage Club Brugge KV in their tie against Beşiktaş JK after goals from Tom De Sutter and Lior Refaelov helped the hosts fight back from behind to boost their prospects of a UEFA Europa League quarter-final place.

With Beşiktaş having never previously lost to a Belgian side and Club Brugge boasting the competition's meanest defence, chances were perhaps unsurprisingly rare in the first half. Olcay Şahan and Necip Uysal caught the eye for the visitors with their strong running, but creating tangible openings was another matter, and it was a similar story at the other end. Davy de Fauw was gifted an opportunity after Cenk Gönen had spilled a free-kick at his feet, but the defender scuffed a tame effort wide.

The game got the kick-start it needed two minutes after the break when Gökhan Töre ghosted past two defenders and crashed the ball into the corner with his left boot. The hosts responded immediately as Timmy Simons whistled a shot just over the crossbar, before Demba Ba had a low attempt blocked by a defensive foot at the opposite end.

The equaliser came on 62 minutes as substitute Felipe Gedoz hammered in a low effort from range and Tom De Sutter pounced, getting a toe to the ball and directing it into the corner. Laurens De Bock's free-kick then almost wriggled clear of Cenk, but the goalkeeper could do nothing with Lior Refaelov's penalty after Serdar Kurtuluş had tripped Gedoz – leaving Michel Preud'homme's men with the edge ahead of next week's return in Istanbul.
