• PSV Eindhoven's 3-2 win at Panathinaikos FC enabled the Dutch side to usurp SL Benfica as the club with the most goals in the UEFA Europa League. They have now scored 69 times in 46 matches.
• Óscar Cardozo's cameo as an added-time substitute in Trabzonspor AŞ's 1-1 draw at KSC Lokeren OV was his 40th outing in the UEFA Europa League, drawing him level with former Benfica team-mate Eduardo Salvio at the top of the competition's all-time appearance rankings.
• Jonatan Soriano's hat-trick for FC Salzburg at GNK Dinamo Zagreb took his tally of UEFA Europa League goals to 13 – the fifth highest total in the competition. His third goal in Zagreb was the 2,900th in the competition; he also struck the 2,700th, on matchday one against Celtic FC.
• Soriano became only the fourth player to score more than one UEFA Europa League hat-trick, the others being Radamel Falcao (with three for FC Porto), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (two for FC Schalke 04) and Edinson Cavani (two for SSC Napoli).
• Napoli are now the team with the most UEFA Europa League hat-trick scorers (four) following Jonathan De Guzmán's treble in the 3-0 home win against BSC Young Boys. Porto, Salzburg and Tottenham Hotspur FC have each provided three. Lior Refaelov's hat-trick for Club Brugge KV at FC København was the first recorded by the Belgian side in 32 UEFA Europa League matches.
• Sevilla FC's Unai Emery has now been in charge of more UEFA Europa League games than any other coach. He was on the bench for the 39th time as the holders defeated R. Standard de Liège, taking him past Benfica's Jorge Jesus's tally of 38. Emery's total includes 20 matches for Valencia CF and 19 with Sevilla.
• FC Steaua Bucureşti's 2-2 draw at Rio Ave FC means that the Romanian club have joined PSV and SS Lazio as the team with the most draws in the competition – 12. The two goals that Steaua conceded also lifted their aggregate to 50, the joint highest in the UEFA Europa League alongside SK Rapid Wien.
• Defeats on matchday four mean that both FK Partizan and ŠK Slovan Bratislava have gone ten games without a win, equalling Standard's competition low. Slovan have lost seven matches on the trot – one short of the UEFA Europa League record, held jointly by PFC CSKA Sofia and Rapid Wien.
• VfL Wolfsburg became just the fifth side to score five or more goals in the second half of a UEFA Europa League fixture as they ran out 5-1 winners at home to FC Krasnodar.
• Matchday four brought a first victory in the competition for a Finnish club as HJK Helsinki beat Torino FC 2-1. Five of the other newcomers to the UEFA Europa League this season – AS Saint-Étienne, Krasnodar, FC Dinamo Minsk, Rio Ave and FC Astra Giurgiu – have yet to register a win whereas another debutant, FC Dinamo Moskva, have four victories out of four.
• Group E leaders Dinamo are one of four teams already sure of their place in the round of 32, the others being Legia Warszawa (who also have maximum points, in Group L), Salzburg (Group D) and ACF Fiorentina (Group K).
• Already eliminated after four matches are seven sides – Partizan (Group C), Astra (D), Panathinaikos (E), Slovan Bratislava (I), Rio Ave (J), Dinamo Minsk (K) and FC Metalist Kharkiv (L).
