FC Dynamo Kyiv winger Andriy Yarmolenko has been named Ukrainian player of the year after receiving almost four times as many votes as anyone else.

The 25-year-old received 480 points to finish ahead of FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk's Yevhen Konoplyanka (129) in the annual poll of Ukrainian Premier League clubs' coaches and captains. FC Metalist Kharkiv midfielder Cleiton Xavier (86) was third, followed by current UEFA Champions League top scorer Luiz Adriano of FC Shakhtar Donetsk and Dnipro's Ruslan Rotan (53).

"I understand the importance of recognition from coaches and colleagues, and want to thank everyone who voted for me," said Yarmolenko, who claimed three goals and four assists as Dynamo Kyiv topped their UEFA Europa League group. "However, I know that I still lack club trophies and together with Dynamo we will work hard to change this in the coming year."

Dynamo Kyiv coach Serhiy Rebrov, Ukrainian player of the year in 1996 and 1998, added: "Yarmolenko is really eager to succeed with Dynamo. He has been on the top level in almost every game this season and his performances have finally become stable."
