Pablo Osvaldo has joined FC Internazionale Milano on loan from Southampton FC, with the Nerrazzuri having the option to buy the Italian forward next summer.
As part of the deal, 22-year-old Algerian midfielder Saphir Taider moves in the opposite direction on the same terms. Osvaldo returns to Serie A after finishing the second half of last season on loan with Juventus, where he made 11 appearances to help the Bianconeri win the title.
"I believe we can win the Scudetto and that we can also do well in Europe," said the former AS Roma man after signing. The Argentina-born striker, 28, arrived at Southampton at the start of last season for a club-record fee before being loaned to Juve after 13 appearances. Capped 12 times by Italy, he started his career in Europe with Atalanta BC in 2006 before spells with US Lecce, ACF Fiorentina, Bologna FC and Roma, scoring 27 goals in 55 Serie A games with the Giallorossi before signing for the Saints.
Taider played 25 times for Inter in Serie A last season and featured for Algeria in their 2014 FIFA World Cup matches against Belgium and Germany.
