Valtteri Moren, HJK defender
It is a big thing to get our first goals and points, but we must not be too pleased with the win. There is still plenty to play for, and one win is not even nearly enough. We need more wins; we must concentrate on our upcoming matches.

It was a bit of a surprise I was playing tonight. I only heard about it in the morning. The goal was a great thing. Erfan Zeneli headed the ball perfectly to me and actually in the end it was quite an easy goal to score. It put us 2-0 up and we kept the lead until the end. It was great to score the winner.

Mika Väyrynen, HJK midfielder
It was a tight match. The three points are very important. We had chances in the first half and could have scored before the interval. We managed two in the second half. The final minutes were really tough after Torino pulled one back, but it feels good now. First goals and first points – that is good, but we have to build on this.

Giampiero Ventura, Torino coach
I do not want to blame individual players or pinpoint anything in particular – we got everything wrong. I want to apologize to our supporters who had made all the way here. HJK won and they deserved to win, but we gave them a lot of help. We had a chance to equalise at the end, but even that would not have changed the big picture.

We must try to learn from this. If we can learn, at least there would have been something positive from this game. After all, it is still all in our own hands. We need one win and I firmly believe we can get it.

Mika Lehkosuo, HJK coach
We were better prepared than we were in Turin; we played a very good match. The beginning of the second half was especially good from us. It was close in the end, but 2-1 was enough. Set pieces are always important. We have conceded from set pieces – and did so even tonight. I am happy, though, that we could turn it around and score from them ourselves.
