FC Anji Makhachkala have signed Russian international forward Aleksandr Bukharov on loan from FC Zenit until the end of the season.
Bukharov, involved in only four Premier-Liga games for Zenit in this campaign, has already joined his new team-mates in Turkey where Anji are in training during the domestic winter break. "I hope to help the club – I'm now working with a new team," said Bukharov, who has not played since October.
The 28-year-old had moved to Zenit from FC Rubin Kazan on a four-year deal in June 2010, subsequently scoring 17 goals in 81 appearances for Luciano Spalletti's men. Anji, four points adrift at the foot of the Russian top flight, face KRC Genk in the UEFA Europa League round of 32. They welcome the Belgian side on 20 February, with the second leg the following Thursday.
