Education has been one of the key drivers behind an excellent 2014/15 season to date for FC Dynamo Kyiv. Their coach Serhiy Rebrov is a former attendee of UEFA's exchange courses for Pro licence students in Nyon and attributes a large slice of his success to the learning of his new trade.
Rebrov on the Pro licence: "Of course it was very important. I'd say it would be important for any coach, especially since at that stage I was an assistant coach. It was very important being able to listen to experts, which I had the great chance to do in Nyon. In general, I think it's very important for coaches to ask questions about things that interest them in order to get a better understanding [of their trade]."
Rebrov on key learnings: "I think every coach should focus on something that's outside their own model, also looking at others because every coach probably encounters many different styles of play in their coaching work. You should be able to understand how you should tackle them. Of course, that comes not only from the courses in Nyon, but also the work experiences I've had, that were always very interesting for me."
