UEFA Europa League round of 32 draw

Sevilla FC face VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach in the last 32 and memories are stirred of a famous 1967 contest between Celtic FC and FC Internazionale Milano.

Holders Sevilla FC must get past VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 following the draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Spanish side have lifted the trophy three times in the last nine seasons, and in two of those campaigns overcame German opposition en route to claiming silverware. Sevilla saw off SC Freiburg in last season's group stage, winning 2-0 home and away, and beat 1. FSV Mainz 05 and FC Schalke 04 in 2005/06.

Other highlights of today's draw include a repeat of the 1967 European Champion Clubs' Cup final between Celtic FC and FC Internazionale, and some unwelcome memories of Liverpool FC for Beşiktaş JK.

• Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup with a 2-1 defeat of Inter in the 1967 final in Lisbon. The Italian side got their revenge in the semi-finals five years later, prevailing on penalties after the tie had finished goalless over two legs.

• Although it is a first competitive meeting for Sevilla and Mönchengladbach, the teams have won the competition five times between them.

• Salzburg got the better of Villarreal away (1-0) and home (2-0) in the 2009/10 group stage.

• Liverpool inflicted an 8-0 defeat on Beşiktaş in the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League group stage, still a competition record. The Turkish club had won the reverse fixture 2-1.
