Matchday six facts and figures

• Torino FC's qualification on matchday six as Group B runners-up means that all four Serie A clubs have made it through to the knockout phase. With AS Roma having also joined from the UEFA Champions League, there will be five teams from Italy in the round of 32 – a record representation from one nation at this stage of the UEFA Europa League.

• The addition of Roma takes Italy's number of all-time participating sides in the UEFA Europa League, group stage to final, to 23 – also a record figure. There has yet, however, to be an Italian winner, nor even a finalist, in the revamped competition.

• AFC Ajax have arrived in the competition mid-term from the UEFA Champions League for the fifth successive season and will join their Dutch rivals PSV Eindhoven as the only two clubs to have competed in all six UEFA Europa League campaigns.

• FC Dinamo Moskva's 1-0 win at PSV completed a perfect group stage effort by the Russian club. They are the sixth team to win all six of their UEFA Europa League group matches – and the second side from Russia, FC Zenit having also accomplished the feat on their debut, in 2010/11.

• FC Salzburg set a new competition high for the number of goals scored in the group stage as they topped Group D by finding the net 21 times. The previous record mark was 18, held jointly by RSC Anderlecht, Zenit and PFC CSKA Moskva.

• Salzburg also matched PSV's past achievement of going through the group stage unbeaten for a third time as well as equalling the feats of PSV and Sporting Clube de Portugal in winning a UEFA Europa League group for a third time.

• Salzburg's 5-1 success over FC Astra Giurgiu, coupled with GNK Dinamo Zagreb's 4-3 victory at home to Celtic FC, created a new record for the number of goals scored in a group on a single matchday, the aggregate of 13 bettering the previous mark by one.

• ŠK Slovan Bratislava and FC Metalist Kharkiv both ended the group phase without a point. The only side to have previously suffered that fate were Shamrock Rovers FC, who lost all six games in 2011/12. Slovan's concession of 20 goals also amounted to a group stage high, the Irish club having previously held that record with 19.

• Another unwanted landmark was matched by Slovan, in the company of FK Partizan, as the two teams finished the group stage with just one goal apiece. Four clubs had previously scored once only in their group, but no side has yet drawn blanks in all six group fixtures.

• Slovan and Partizan also both stretched their record run of successive matches without a win to 12, while the Slovak outfit's defeat at SSC Napoli was their ninth in a row – a new competition record eclipsing the previous mark that they shared with PFC CSKA Sofia and SK Rapid Wien.

• While Slovan, uniquely, have still to win a game in two UEFA Europa League campaigns, matchday six brought first victories in the competition for three clubs – FC Dinamo Minsk (2-1 at ACF Fiorentina), Rio Ave FC (2-0 at home to Aalborg BK) and FC Krasnodar (1-0 at Everton FC).

• Those results leave AS Saint-Étienne, who drew their first five fixtures before losing at FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on matchday six, as the only one of this season's 14 UEFA Europa League group stage debutants to leave the competition without a victory.
