Celtic FC have further strengthened their squad with the acquisition of Honduras left-back Emilio Izaguirre. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Glasgow club after agreeing a €700,000 transfer from CD Motagua and becomes manager Neil Lennon's ninth recruit of the summer.
"He's a good player," said Lennon. "He's strong defensively, he's quick, he's got a very good left foot and he's good going forward. He had a good [FIFA] World Cup for Honduras. Left-back is an area we've been looking to fill for a while. We've taken our time with this one and we think we've got the right one." Celtic face FC Utrecht on Thursday at Celtic Park in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off tie.
