After two goalless draws on matchday one, UEFA Europa League Group F is yet to take shape, with Lokomotiv Moskva eager to get some momentum going against 0-0 specialists Zlín.
Previous meetings
• The sides are meeting for the first time; Lokomotiv have never played another Czech side, and this is Zlín's maiden encounter with Russian opponents.
• The 28 games between Russian and Czech clubs in UEFA competition history have produced 12 Russian wins to seven Czech ones. Sparta Praha's 3-0 success at Krasnodar in the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League round of 32 is the only Czech success in 14 UEFA games in Russia: W1 D6 L7.
Form guide
• Lokomotiv's 0-0 draw at København on matchday one was their second successive European draw.
• Zlín's 0-0 against Sheriff was their third goalless draw in their last four European games. They have not scored in that run (D3 L1), their last European goal being scored by Josef Lukaštík in a 1-0 UEFA Intertoto Cup success at Neman Grodno in June 2005.
• Lokomotiv are contesting the UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League group stage for a fifth season, and have failed just once to reach the round of 32 – finishing bottom of their group in 2007/08.
• Zlín won the Czech Cup for the first time last season; the Ševci (Cobblers) have not played European football since 2005 and are making their group stage debut.
Links and trivia
• The journey from Zlin to Moscow is around 1,500km.
• On-loan Lokomotiv forward Éder scored the extra-time winner for Portugal in the UEFA EURO 2016 final against France.
• Zlín's Senegalese striker Dame Diop was on the books at Russian side Khimki in 2012/13 but never made a senior appearance.
The coaches
• Yuri Semin took charge of Lokomotiv for a fourth time in August 2016, having lifted the club's only two Russian titles during his second stint from 1992–2005. He also played for Loko from 1975–77, and coached Dynamo Kyiv to the 2008/09 Ukrainian championship.
• Bohumil Páník started his coaching career with Zlín in 2000, and returned to the club in 2014, his adventures in between times including spells with Lech Poznań and Pogoń Szczecin in Poland. He guided Zlín to Czech Cup glory in 2016/17.
