The UEFA Referees Committee have announced that Swedish official Jonas Eriksson will referee the 2016 UEFA Europa League final between Liverpool and Sevilla.
Eriksson, 42, has been an international referee since 2002. He officiated the 2013 UEFA Super Cup between Chelsea and Bayern München, and was in Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Last year he was fourth official for the UEFA Champions League final in Berlin, where Barcelona defeated Juventus.
This season Eriksson has officiated one game in the UEFA Europa League and five more in the UEFA Champions League, including the round of 16 second leg between Bayern and Juventus that ended 4-2 after extra time.
Following the UEFA Europa League final in Basel on 18 May, Eriksson's next big date is UEFA EURO 2016, where he is one of 18 referees.
