Goals galore as play-off contenders confirmed

Vorskla 3-1 Žilina (agg: 3-3, Žilina win on away goals)
A 121st-minute goal from substitute William rescued ten-man Žilina who had looked to be heading out after a rousing Vorskla display in Ukraine. The Slovak visitors had brought a two-goal lead into the second leg but Anton Shinder and a 91st-minute effort from Yevhen Tkachuk forced extra time. It appeared all over for the away team when they lost Nikolas Špalek to a red card as the forward conceded a penalty which Sanzhar Tursunov converted, but redemption arrived thanks to the last-gasp Brazilian.

Trabzonspor 1-1 Rabotnicki (agg: 1-2)
A 112th-minute Kire Markoski goal helped the FYR Macedonian side complete the shock of the round as they overcame Trabzonspor in extra time despite being down to ten men. Okay Yokuşlu brought the tie level with a 55th-minute goal in Turkey and when Dusko Trajcevski received a second yellow card with 25 minutes left, it looked over for the visitors. However, they managed to force overtime and substitute Markoski won it with eight minutes to play.

Borussia Dortmund 5-0 Wolfsberg (agg: 6-0)
The Bundesliga outfit found form to march into the play-offs, hitting five second-half goals to see off their Austrian guests. Made to work hard in a 1-0 away win last week, Dortmund had a similar experience during a goalless first half. Marco Reus opened the floodgates after the interval, scoring in the 48th minute before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the tally and Henrikh Mkhitaryan weighed in with a hat-trick.

København 2-3 Jablonec (agg: 3-3, Jablonec win on away goals)
Jablonec made amends for last week's home loss to register three times in Denmark and stun the hosts. Tomáš Wágner and Ján Greguš had earned the Czech team a two-goal advantage by the 53rd minute and when Benjamin Verbič saw red it seemed there was no way back for the hosts. That was until Nicolai Jørgensen reduced the deficit, yet Martin Pospíšil struck again for Jablonec to ensure their progress despite Federico Santander's late reply.

Astra 2-1 West Ham (agg: 4-3)
Two goals down in London before salvaging a draw last Thursday, Astra trailed again in the return leg following Manuel Lanzini's fourth-minute breakthrough for the Hammers. However, Marius Șumudică's men showed their resolve again as a pair of goals – four minutes apart – arrived via captain Constantin Budescu to take the Romanian club one step away from the group stage.

Omonia 2-2 Brøndby (agg: 2-2, Brøndby win on away goals)
Cillian Sheridan equalised twice from the spot for the Cypriot hosts but they were nevertheless dumped out of the competition by Teemu Pukki's double. The Finn slotted past Kostas Panayi when sent clean through in the second minute and restored the Danish side's initiative after Sheridan had levelled with a lobbed finish. Omonia's Irish forward converted a second penalty in first-half added time yet Costas Kaiafas' troops could not muster a third to prevent an away goals exit despite Brøndby keeper Lukas Hradecky's late dismissal.

Odd 2-0 Elfsborg (agg: 3-2)
The Norwegian club overhauled first-leg arrears of 2-1 to get past their Scandinavian guests from Sweden and make the play-offs for the first time. Olivier Occean had netted the Odd goal in the teams' first encounter last week and was on target again, firing the hosts ahead in the 27th minute before Chukwuma Akabueze sealed the turnaround with 19 minutes remaining.

Slovan Bratislava 3-3 Krasnodar (agg: 3-5)
Róbert Vittek struck a hat-trick to become joint-top scorer in qualifying though it proved in vain as his Slovan side were eliminated by an impressive Krasnodar. With the Russian club two up from the first leg, the tie was put beyond doubt as two Pavel Mamaev goals in the space of four minutes stretched the lead. Vittek notched his first in the 54th minute and third in the 77th to give the Slovak team a glimmer of hope, which was snuffed out at the death by Fedor Smolov.
