Rebrov has faith as Dynamo draw Fiorentina

"If we can play at the same level that we did against Everton then nothing is impossible," said FC Dynamo Kyiv coach Serhiy Rebrov after his side drew ACF Fiorentina.

FC Dynamo Kyiv have reason for trepidation after being drawn against ACF Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Facts and figures
• The Italian outfit have not lost in four meetings with Dynamo Kyiv, each time winning the first leg by the odd goal before drawing the return 0-0.
• The teams met in the 1989/90 UEFA Cup third round, Roberto Baggio scoring the only goal of the tie from the penalty spot in Italy against Valeriy Lobanovskiy's side, who played over half that first leg with ten men. The Viola went all the way to the final before losing to Juventus.
• Strikes from Luciano Chiarugi and Mario Maraschi earned Fiorentina a 2-1 victory in Kyiv in the first instalment of the teams' 1969/70 European Champion Clubs' Cup second-round tie.
• The Viola have never lost a quarter-final in this competition. A pair of 1-0 wins for Bruno Giorgi's side did the damage against AJ Auxerre in 1990. There were also two goals in it in 2008 as, after a 1-1 first-leg draw at home, Adrian Mutu's double earned a 2-0 success at PSV Eindhoven.
• This season's records: Dynamo Kyiv – W7 D0 L3 F22 A11; Fiorentina – W6 D3 L1 F18 A6

Draw reaction
Serhiy Rebrov, Dynamo Kyiv coach
Fiorentina are serious opponents who beat Roma in the round of 16 and are currently in the top five in Serie A. I think that tells you everything about the strength of the side. Am I satisfied with the draw? After we made it past Everton, I cannot complain about the draw. I will evaluate the draw after the two games against Fiorentina. It is 50-50. If we can play at the same level that we did against Everton then nothing is impossible. Everything is in our hands.

Vincenzo Montella, Fiorentina coach
First of all I'm very happy to have avoided the other Italian team in the draw [SSC Napoli]. Dynamo are certainly a difficult team to face, especially now because they are in a great period of form. They have improved a lot in recent weeks and you could see that against Everton. They have players with quality; they are very organised and strong physically. However, we will prepare well for these matches because we want to continue our journey. I think both sides will have opportunities to qualify.

Andrea Rogg, Fiorentina director general
It will be a great tie. Dynamo Kyiv have a long and illustrious history, not only in their domestic league but also in Europe. We, on the other hand, have shown that we have been developing well. This gives us hope and means we can approach these knockout matches against Dynamo with great belief. Fiorentina have been playing some good football recently. Every team that's made it this far should be hoping to get to the final, so we have that ambition as well.
