Keepers shine as Anderlecht, Dinamo draw a blank

RSC Anderlecht's Silvio Proto produced a pair of superb saves to deny an FC Dinamo Moskva team who ended this UEFA Europa League round of 32 opener down to ten men following Alexander Büttner's dismissal.

Hosts Anderlecht dominated the encounter but failed to convert a series of chances and might have paid the price had their goalkeeper not pulled off two acrobatic stops to deny Balázs Dzsudzsák. Indeed, the Belgian champions will be satisfied to have denied an away goal to a side who posted a 100% record in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Teenage midfielder Youri Tielemans showed some graceful touches in Anderlecht's midfield and went close in the first half after teeing himself up for an ambitious long-range drive which had Dinamo's Vladimir Gabulov worried. Aleksandar Mitrović and Tielemans then combined to craft a decent opportunity which the latter sent straight at Gabulov, before the goalkeeper produced excellent stops in quick succession to deny Frank Acheampong, Olivier Deschacht and Mitrović.

Anderlecht defender Rolando glanced a header just wide at the end of the half, after Proto had produced a brilliant save to deny Dzsudzsák, which he then bettered from an equally well-struck attempt by the same player in the second period. It was Les Mauves who finished on top, though, Mitrović failing to make the most of two decent chances either side of Büttner's 75th-minute sending-off, and Gabulov later denying Leander Dendoncker to keep this tie on a knife's edge.
