Guy Luzon has resigned as head coach of R. Standard de Liège.
A club statement read: "Guy Luzon has told the squad that he is stepping down as coach. He is no longer head coach of Standard, but will remain active inside the network of partner clubs. Ivan Vukomanović will temporarily take over."
Luzon joined Standard in the summer of 2013, after having led hosts Israel at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Having finished second in the league last season, Standard beat Panathinaikos FC in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round in July before losing to FC Zenit in the play-offs, transferring to the UEFA Europa League, where they have three points from two games.
However, Standard are only 12th in the Eerste Klasse this season, with Saturday's home game with SV Zulte Waregem abandoned after 89 minutes with the visitors 2-1 up. Former midfielder Vukomanović, 37, will lead Standard at home against Sevilla FC on Thursday, having joined as Luzon's assistant in summer 2013 after a playing career with the likes of FK Obilić, Girondins de Bordeaux, FK Crvena zvezda, 1. FC Köln, FC Dinamo Moskva, KSC Lokeren OV and R. Antwerp FC.
