Serhiy Rebrov, Dynamo Kyiv coach
It was a difficult match against a team who, in my opinion, deserve to be in the Champions League. Here in Kyiv, Steaua were not at their best but in some spells we had lots of problems. These are three very important points for us but the group is still open.

Our opponents wanted more possession in midfield so we tried to put pressure on them. The first goal was a result of a move we mastered in training. It's the first time it has worked – all players knew what to do and where to move. I think fans liked it.

We had eight Dynamo academy graduates on the pitch today, which means our young players improve and do their best. Our foreign players also do a very good job and I'd like to congratulate Lukasz Teodorczyk. He scored with almost his first touch. Congratulations to the whole team in fact.

Constantin Gâlcă, Steaua coach
Dynamo's positional play was great and they outplayed us in the flanks. We were not ready for that. They were aggressive and determined; they didn't let us play our usual game. They controlled the ball better and used spaces much more effectively than we did. Especially after the first goal when we had to open up a bit.

My team didn't stick to our game plan and that was why we couldn't get a positive result. Dynamo were very focused from the first minute while we needed time to get into the game. You cannot afford to do that at this level.

Artem Kravets, Dynamo Kyiv forward
We played very well. We analysed Steaua during three long theory sessions, so we knew what to do on the pitch. We were keeping to our principles and this was key to our success. Our game plan was not giving much freedom to their central midfielders, who are very good with the ball and pass it well.

We tried to be compact and collect the ball in the midfield. After we scored it was easier because they opened up and we had more spaces to play on the counterattack. We missed lots of chances, with myself spurning a couple of great opportunities. That means we still have a lot to work on.

Giedrius Arlauskis, Steaua goalkeeper
We did a lot of things wrong. Dynamo are strong opponents and we anticipated a tough game. We conceded the first goal just before the break, which was a big blow. In the second half we had to attack more and allowed Dynamo to play on the counterattack. At 2-0 it was almost impossible to save the game.

We started cautiously as we wanted to see how Dynamo would play. A draw would have been a good result but we never play for a draw. Our only goal was to win. We prepared well but Dynamo are Dynamo ….
