Sevilla FC will go into Thursday's UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg trip to Real Betis Balompié without defender Daniel Carriço after the 25-year-old was ruled out for three weeks.
The Portuguese centre-back picked up a right ankle injury in training on the eve of the first leg and sat out Sevilla's shock 2-0 defeat by their city rivals. A scorer of three goals in 22 starts in all competitions for the club this season, Carriço will miss the second leg too, after further tests revealed the extent of the problem.
