FC Salzburg coach Roger Schmidt has agreed a two-year contract extension with the runaway Austrian Bundesliga leaders.
Schmidt, 46, is now tied to the club until the end of the 2015/16 season. Salzburg sporting director Ralf Rangnick said: "We are very happy that this decision was finally made together with Roger. We are in good shape at the moment and Roger Schmidt is doing some great work in order to keep the team on the right track."
Schmidt succeeded Ricardo Moniz in the summer of 2012. He has overseen 52 victories in 76 matches and guided Salzburg to the summit of the Austrian top flight, where they are 11 points clear of SV Grödig ahead of the league's resumption in early February.
"We are on a very successful road with Salzburg right now and I am very happy that the club puts that much trust in my work," said the former SC Preussen Münster and SC Paderborn 07 coach.
Salzburg were one of two teams, along with Tottenham Hotspur FC, to win all six games during this season's UEFA Europa League group stage. They will play AFC Ajax in the round of 32 on 20 and 27 February, with the second leg at home.
