Floccari: Lazio on right path

Sergio Floccari said SS Lazio are aiming for top spot in UEFA Europa League Group J after he scored both goals in a crucial 2-1 victory against Apollon Limassol FC that moved the Biancocelesti four points ahead of their third-placed opponents. Lazio are second, two points behind Trabzonspor AŞ, and the striker told UEFA.com: "We will have to win the next two games."

It was a very good victory because we took a good jump in the standings. We struggled, we struggled a lot. Apollon are a side who play better away – they did so in Warsaw and they played well today. They gave us problems, but in other games we have played well without getting points, so we will take these three which give us hope of winning the group. Obviously we will have to win the next two games, but we can still hope.

It's always nice to score goals in European competitions. It's a great satisfaction for me, especially because the two goals tonight gave us three points this time. Keita [Baldé] was very good. He has great potential and he is working hard. Technical qualities usually are not enough, but he is also working hard, so he is certainly on the right path. He is a boy who will play on the biggest stages.

This victory is a big help in terms of qualification. Mathematically it's not done yet, but we certainly have a great chance now. We just need to keep going on the right path.

It was a very important victory, we really needed these three points. We are happy about our performance in the first half, but we must play better than we did in the second. I always try to enjoy the game when I have the chance to play because football is fun. Now, however, we cannot relax because we want to qualify and win the two remaining games. I'm very happy for Floccari and his two goals, he really deserves them.

We did not start well, we made some mistakes. Lazio exploited them to score and we were 2-0 down. After we scored, we tried to play better – we believed more and we pushed hard, especially in the second half when we were very good. We tried to score another, but we didn't manage to. This is football, but we will keep on trying. We had one good opportunity for a second goal, but Lazio had one or two chances to score a third and finish the game.
