Guardado, Pereira injuries leave Valencia short

Matchday three victors over FC St Gallen, Valencia CF must face the Swiss side without injured duo Andrés Guardado and João Pereira in next week's return.

Valencia CF have suffered a double injury blow ahead of next week's trip to FC St Gallen with full-backs Andrés Guardado and João Pereira ruled out of the UEFA Europa League Group A encounter in Switzerland.

Mexican international Guardado suffered a left hamstring tear during Wednesday's 2-1 Liga home defeat by UD Almería, keeping him out for three weeks. Pereira picked up a left adductor muscle strain in the same game which will sideline the Portugal defender for a fortnight. Miroslav Djukić's team responded to an opening 3-0 home reverse against Swansea City AFC by claiming successive victories over FC Kuban Krasnodar and St Gallen to go second in Group A.
