Genk's Gorius upbeat, Sabitzer keeps the faith

Julien Gorius' delight at maintaining his goal-a-game record for KRC Genk in UEFA Europa League Group G was soured by SK Rapid Wien's late equaliser. The forward promised to continue his fine form, while conceding that his side's seven points at the section's halfway stage is "a very good start to the European campaign". Visiting forward Terrence Boyd was delighted with the character shown by his side, who left with a point that scorer Marcel Sabitzer feels will boost morale at the Austrian outfit.

I have been successful since the beginning of this competition and that is a good thing for me. Fortune smiled on me again this evening. We work on these things in training and I know I am good at shooting from distance. I scored a similar goal in the previous Europa League match and so I did not expect to be unmarked on the edge of the box like that. At the moment they are flying in but maybe in a few weeks when I try those they will fly over the crossbar.

You have to make the most of it when you are full of confidence and things are going your way. I would have preferred to have won the game than to have scored but overall I am satisfied with the result. [Rapid] are a good side and we could have killed the game off at the start of the second half, even if at the end of the day they probably deserved a point. Seven points out of nine is a very good start to our European campaign.

We had a couple of good chances to go 2-0 ahead but they did not go in and at the end of the game they made it 1-1 and that is very disappointing for us. But at the end of the day we have seven points out of nine and that is a very good position after three games. In the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half we were on top but then I think we forgot to play and left too much space for them. We made it difficult for ourselves and it is a pity because I think if we had made it 2-0 then they would never have taken anything from here.

We have proved many times this season that we can come back and this is the positive thing that we learned today. The way we played in the second half and the effort we put in. We just have to put the same effort in from the beginning of the next match. We are not gone in this group and it is positive we got the point.

That said, we have to be humble, work hard and see what happens. Right now we cannot talk about advancing. When we play them at home we will have a huge crowd behind us and you heard them today they were louder than the home fans. Back in Vienna we will have 35 or 40,000 of those crazy fans cheering us on. They get right behind us and it will be down to our will to win. I think we have a shot.

A point is a good result for us and I am very happy to have scored the goal that saw us come away with something. It was a wonderful feeling to score, of course, and getting the draw will boost morale in the squad. Even if we only have two points from three games I think we still have a chance and we have to think positively.
