Cypriot title holders APOEL FC have parted company with coach Paulo Sérgio following Thursday's 3-0 UEFA Europa League defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt.
The former Heart of Midlothian FC and CFR 1907 Cluj boss, 45, arrived this summer following the departure of Ivan Jovanović but has endured a string of disappointing results. He managed just three victories in 11 games, including a 1-0 win against Apollon Limassol FC in the Cypriot Super Cup.
APOEL's defeat by Eintracht was the club's sixth successive European game without a win under the Portuguese boss. "We would like to thank Paulo Sérgio for his understanding and decency during our meeting with him," read a club statement. "We wish him every success for the future, both professionally and personally."
