Branko Ivanković has been appointed coach of GNK Dinamo Zagreb for a third time.
Ivanković's return comes nearly two weeks after the dismissal of Krunoslav Jurčić, following Dinamo's 2-0 home defeat by FK Austria Wien in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off tie. Ivanković, 59, has already had two spells at the Dinamo helm, winning the league and cup double in 2007.
"I am proud to be back at Dinamo," said Ivanković, who also counts the Iran national team and Chinese side Shandong Luneng Taishan FC among his former posts. "We all know what Dinamo mean to Croatian football, what their aims are. Of course I believe we can achieve our goals. I have always kept an eye on what's happening at the club, so I am well informed about the situation and the team I have inherited."
Dinamo won the away leg but ultimately suffered a 4-3 aggregate reverse against Austria Wien. They will face PSV Eindhoven, FC Chornomorets Odesa and PFC Ludogorets Razgrad in UEFA Europa League Group B.
