Tottenham Hotspur FC have completed the signing of Romania defender Vlad Chiricheş from FC Steaua Bucureşti and AS Roma winger Erik Lamela.
Chiricheş, a 23-year-old centre-back, has moved to White Hart Lane for a reported €10m, while the fee for Lamela, 21, is believed to be around three times that amount. No details of the length of contract for either player have been disclosed.
Chiricheş spent just over a season and a half at Steaua, where he made 42 league appearances. Capped 19 times, he joined the capital club from CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu in January 2012, having switched there from FC Internaţional Curtea de Argeş following a spell in the youth ranks at SL Benfica.
Lamela began his career at CA River Plate, transferring to Roma in August 2011. He averaged a goal nearly every three league games for the Giallorossi, scoring 19 times in 62 Serie A outings, and increased his tally of Argentina caps to three during his spell at the Stadio Olimpico.
The deals take the north London side's summer spending through the €100m barrier after the captures of Étienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Paulinho. Spurs have been drawn with FC Anji Makhachkala, FC Sheriff and Tromsø IL in UEFA Europa League Group K.
