UEFA Europa League play-off entrants Sevilla FC have signed Vicente Iborra from fellow Spanish Liga side Levante UD on a five-year deal for a reported €6m fee with forward Baba Diawara moving in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.
Iborra, 25, spent six seasons at Levante and was a key figure the centre of their midfield last term, scoring four goals in 35 league appearances. The 25-year-old Senegal forward Diawara, meanwhile, has made just seven league starts since joining Sevilla from Portuguese outfit CS Marítimo in January 2012.
It is not all good news for the Andalusian club, though, as defender Daniel Carriço has been ruled out for around six weeks with a right thigh injury and will miss the play-off tie against WKS Śląsk Wrocław, the first leg of which takes place on 22 August in Spain.
