Sevilla FC have announced the capture of French international attacker Kevin Gameiro from Paris Saint-Germain FC for a fee reportedly in the region of €10m.
The 26-year-old arrives at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on a five-year contract, joining fellow newcomer, Colombia forward Carlos Bacca, at the UEFA Europa League challengers.
Gameiro – who has eight France caps – moved to PSG from FC Lorient in 2011. He went on to score 19 goals in 59 Ligue 1 games over two campaigns in the French capital, where he won the first division title last term. His three appearances in last season's UEFA Champions League came against Spanish opponents Valencia CF and FC Barcelona.
Before completing the deal for the former RC Strasbourg player, Sevilla coach Unai Emery said: "Gameiro has had an impressive career to date and the club are making a huge effort to tie up his signature. We are delighted with how our squad is shaping up."
Emery's side will face FK Mladost Podgorica or FK Senica in next month's UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, looking to progress to a play-off for the tournament's group stage.
