Sevilla FC have presented Germany attacker Marko Marin after the 24-year-old agreed to a season-long loan from UEFA Europa League holders Chelsea FC.
Marin signed for Chelsea from SV Werder Bremen last year but endured a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge and was limited to just six top-flight appearances. He rose to prominence at VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach before going on to score eight goals in 87 Bundesliga games for Werder between 2009 and 2012.
Speaking at his presentation at the Estadio Rámon Sánchez Pizjuán, the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship winner – who also has 16 senior caps – said: "I am arriving at a club with a lot of tradition and I hope to help Sevilla return to where they were just a few years ago. I hope I can take on the role of leader, especially having spoken with [my friend] Ivan Rakitić, who is also considered a leader here."
UEFA Cup winners in 2006 and 2007, Sevilla begin their 2013/14 UEFA Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round.
