FC Dynamo Kyiv have signed Netherlands striker Jeremain Lens from PSV Eindhoven for an undisclosed fee, while Dynamo defender Taras Mikhalik has joined FC Lokomotiv Moskva as a free agent.
Lens, 25, has penned a four-year contract with Dynamo, who are preparing for the UEFA Europa League play-offs after finishing outside the Ukrainian top two for the first time. The forward had been at PSV since a 2010 switch from AZ Alkmaar that followed his 12-goal breakthrough season in the Dutch Eredivisie. Shortly afterwards he made his full international debut, scoring in Donetsk to earn a 1-1 draw with Ukraine, and now has 13 caps.
Dynamo president Igor Surkis said Lens was the main close-season transfer target for the club, but added: "I can confirm that Lens is not our last newcomer. I believe we'll have more transfers by the end of the week."
Ukraine centre-back cum midfielder Mikhalik had moved to Dynamo from FC CSKA Kyiv in 2005, helping them win two Premier-Liha titles and two Ukrainian Cups. The 29-year-old's new employers Lokomotiv Moskva today appointed Leonid Kuchuk as coach.
