Levante UD duo Pedro Ríos and Pedro López refused to be lulled into complacency, despite the 3-0 win at home to Olympiacos FC that puts them within touching distance of the UEFA Europa League round of 16. Ríos admitted "we did not think we would get a result like this" while visiting defender Pablo Contreras conceded that the knowledge his side were second best left a bitter taste.
Pedro Ríos, Levante midfielder
I think we played a very complete game although the result may be misleading. Olympiacos made things very difficult for us but we still managed to put in a great performance all over the pitch. The work of the whole team was incredible. We did not think we would get a result like this. We will go to Greece with a very good result, but knowing we will have a difficult game there.
We are not afraid of what is known as 'Greek hell', but we have respect for them. Olympiacos command respect. They are a UEFA Champions League team. José Barkero is one of the players who makes everything easy for us. His quality pass allowed me to score the first goal.
Pedro López, Levante defender
We knew it would be a tough game as they have very good players, but we did very well. Following the first goal we grew in confidence and got the upper hand with their sending-off.
We take it game by game in this competition. We will have a tough time in Greece. We have a great result behind us, but if we concede an early goal everything can get complicated. We do not fear 'Greek hell'. This was a difficult game for them, but with their atmosphere at home they will feel stronger.
Pablo Contreras, Olympiacos defender
We are disappointed with the result and more so with our performance. We were not up to par. Unfortunately we made mistakes that cost us goals and we go home with bitterness, knowing they were better than us.
As a big team and for what we represent, we must give our all to try and turn the result around, but it will be difficult against a team like Levante. But we owe it to our people for all the support they give us. We have amazing fans who support us in difficult times.
Paulo Machado, Olympiacos midfielder
We started the game on the wrong foot and played badly. Although it will be difficult, we will try to overcome the result at home. It was a shame about the chances we missed. We knew about Levante's quality, we knew that they would try to hit us on the break – that's their game. In Greece it will be different. Although Levante won, it will be very difficult for them and we will do everything possible to change the result.
