FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk have finalised a deal to bring centre-back Douglas from CR Vasco da Gama on a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old has been training with the Ukrainian Premier League side for several days, playing in Tuesday's 1-0 friendly win against Hungarian opponents Videoton FC, while the formalities were ironed out.
A towering defender, he had spells at EC Juventude and América FC before really establishing himself at Vasco da Gama, winning the 2011 Copa do Brasil. With Ukraine on winter break until March, Douglas could make his debut away to FC Basel 1893 in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 14 February.
