Panathinaikos FC defender Giourkas Seitaridis was full of remorse after his own goal helped UEFA Europa League Group J leaders S.S. Lazio to an invaluable point in Athens. However, teenage debutant Spyros Fourlanos struck a more upbeat note as the hosts conjured a last-gasp equaliser in an "important game", while despite their lofty position S.S. Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva declared: "The group is still wide open."
Giourkas Seitaridis, Panathinaikos defender
I made a costly error and I would like to apologise to my team-mates, who were fantastic, and to the fans, who played their part. When I saw [André] Pinto on the edge of the box I passed the ball towards him and unfortunately it ended up in the back of the net. Mathematically we still have hope. We have shown against Lazio and Tottenham that we can rise to the occasion in Europe.
Spyros Fourlanos, Panathinaikos midfielder
We did not start well but as the game progressed we improved. I believe that if we continue to play as well as we have been doing, anything can happen. In two weeks' time, I am confident we can get a result as Lazio showed their vulnerability at times. I was delighted to make my debut, the manager showed great faith in me. It was a good result in an important game.
Antonio Candreva, Lazio midfielder
We played really well but Panathinaikos came at us strongly in the last ten minutes and we ended up conceding from a corner, which is disappointing. Nothing is decided yet, though, and the group is still wide open. We host Panathinaikos before games against Tottenham and Maribor, so there is a long way to go with plenty of points to play for.
