Second-half headers from Rasmus Bengtsson and Douglas rescued a draw for FC Twente as they came from two down at Helsingborgs IF in Group L.

On their 100th appearance in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League, it looked like there would be little to cheer for Twente as Nikola Djurdić finished twice from close range before the interval for the hosts. However, goals in the 74th and 88th minutes broke home hearts, as the Dutch team registered a second successive 2-2 in the section.

After losing their 100% domestic league record at the weekend there was no respite for Steve McClaren's side in Sweden. Just seven minutes in, May Mahlangu collected a loose clearance on the right flank and the midfielder picked out Djurdić expertly, allowing his centre-forward to plant a header past Nikolay Mihaylov.

The visitors responded immediately as Dedryck Boyata hit the post with a header before Luc Castaignos wasted two excellent chances to level things up before the break, Pär Hansson denying him from point-blank range on both occasions. Twente's inability to find the net was punished when Mihaylov miscalculated, rushing out to claim a long ball forward which David Accam beat the goalkeeper to and rolled across the empty area for Djurdić to tap in a second.

Twente gave away a two-goal lead in their opening game against Hannover 96, but turned the tables this time around. After Robbert Schilder had struck the bar, substitute Bengtsson – himself a Swede – powered Dušan Tadić's left-wing cross into the corner, before Douglas met Nacer Chadli's late corner to complete the comeback and prevent a third loss from three visits to Sweden for the Tukkers.
